Today’s favorite on my blog julieparkerphotogrpahy.blogspot.com is this Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag that I got for my new camera bag that I got at Little Cherry Blossoms!

The reasons I love this bag:

~It holds my camera body with my 85mm lens attached, my 45mm tilt shift, 24mm, 50mm,all lens hoods,flash, video light, batteries, memory cards, lens cleaning tools, wallet, cell phone, business cards, lip gloss AND it still zips closed!!!
~it has a stiff, plastic-like fabric that can easily wipe clean.
~It stands on it’s own
~it fits comfortably over my shoulder
~ I can swap lenses super fast and easy because there is no flap covering the opening.
~There are 8 divided pockets inside the bag, a large pocket on the front and back side and two zippered pockets on the sides.
~ It’s a lot less than a lot of the new camera bags out there.

It comes with a diaper changing pad that I folded in half and put on the bottom for padding. I also added a shoulder pad to the strap.

If you don’t know me, I’m the buyer around here.  I’m not going to lie…I love to shop. I love finding things that are beautiful, that make my heart beat fast…like a handbag with amazing color, or that perfect pair of pants. You know the ones, that fit like a glove and look absolutely perfect…with everything.   I also love to shop for my kids and for you. I love to shop for you.  It is what I do. I am constantly looking for things that I love, but that you will love too. And here’s the thing…things are a-changin.  Yesterday it might have been about buying as much as you could, at the littlest price.  Today, I feel that quality is better then quantity. If you buy quality, you will spend less money. period.  The goods will last  longer, look better, wash better, wear better, be more comfortable, and make your life better. I know that is a lot to claim, but it is the truth.

Quality is the new cool. (especially at a good price.)

Don’t get me wrong…I love Target, Walmart, Forever 21, H and M, …they all have their place.

But, ….my Ugg boots that I paid  $200 for in 2008  are well into season #2 here in the good ol’ state of Utah, and they look Brand new. I mean perfect. The leather, the rubber soles, the interior…all perfect.   I will be wearing these things for 10 years. (well maybe not that long.)

Buy quality, and live better.

Eight years after the 2002 Winter Olympics, Snowbasin will again be in the national and international spotlight when the prestigious Winter Dew Tour comes to town this month for a four-day ski and snowboard competition featuring some of the biggest airs and most technical tricks being performed today.

In just its second season this year, the Winter Dew Tour is already recognized as one of the more elite competitions outside the Olympics and X Games.  We at Little Cherry Blossoms are very excited to welcome all visitors!  Here is a list of events we will be hosting in our store this weekend!

Thursday:  Free Mountain Dew and Diet Mountain Dew for all of you “always on a diet mommies” such as myself!

Friday:  Dashboard Confessional will be performing at 7 PM here on 25th St.  Make sure to stop by before the concert for free face painting, free balloons and treats between 3 and 7.

Hey there all of you crafty mommies, are you ready to start selling all of your  fabulous, unique products that you are designing at home?!  Here are some tried and true steps for you to consider that will elevate your designs in the eyes of the buyer from a stay-at-home mom crafter to a real business, that is serious about sales.

Step one:  Have a legitimate business name and obtain an at home occupation business license.

Step two:  Create a line sheet.  Wholesale and retail prices with a clear line between the two.  A line sheet also includes a description and picture of the product along with your contact information.

Step three:  Be patient.  Don’t give up.  It’s not always about your product or design, timing is everything.

Historic 25th Street’s newest retail concept is making a BIG Splash this holiday season.

I had a chance to go into Making Scents  this week and was given a first hand tour by owner Rulon on what the store is all about.

Making Scents has over 400 scents that you can add to  over 20 custom made products.

Basically you pick the product that you want, and the fragrance that you want, and then they make it for you.

That part is really cool, but this part is even cooler.

Not only have the owners spent over 7 years perfecting their products,

(yep, they have designed and made almost everything in the store)

almost all of their products are as close to

100% Natural and Preservative Free as they can be.

One of my favorite products, and a best seller is their Soft Touch Exfoliation.

I love that I was able to add my scent to it, and especially that it is made with 100% Natural ingredients like Sea Salt and Pure Bees Wax, plus it  literally left my hands super soft AND smelling good for the entire day.

I can’t wait to go back to Making Scents and mix up some new smells.
